Lessons Learned

  1. Texas is huge. It takes forever to drive through it.
  2. I always over pack for trips.
  3. It’s funny when your kids wear helmets to watch TV.
  4. It’s great to watch the sun set over the Pacific again.
  5. It takes Team S 6 ½ hours to unload a 26-foot moving truck.
  6. There’s nowhere to park a 26-foot moving truck in downtown San Diego.
  7. Vending machine dinners suffice in a pinch.
  8. Don’t reserve a storage unit online…you might end up in a shady neighborhood.
  9. Don’t try to return a moving truck a half an hour before the moving place closes. You’ll get the guy who makes you drive to the gas station to top those 2-½ gallons back into the truck. Then you’ll have to get up early the next morning to actually return the truck.
  10. Tire chains and cables are basically the same thing.
  11. Weed, CA is cold.
  12. My mom is a driving machine.
  13. The Alamo is in the middle of downtown San Antonio…I always thought it was in the middle of Nowhere.
